- 9:45am-11:30am: Outstanding Issues for the Project
- developing the help files
- testing the databases
- adding geographic search and browse capability
- locating geographic coordinates to mark the extent of surveys
- 11:30am-12:30pm: Lunch
- 12:30pm-2:00pm (faculty): CGMA Business Meeting
- next year's class
- making a case to Mellon for a 3-yr. grant extension
- continuing a useful and innovative course
- updating some equipment
- maintaining programmer expertise and maintenance
- adding funds for overseas travel for distinct teams to visit
countries to access localized survey data, make connections with
the right researchers;
- planning for a release date for CGMA version 1.0
- 12:30pm-2:00pm (students): Training Session: Introduction to ArcGIS™ (Pedar Foss)
- operational basics (things 'not to forget')
- how to set up a GIS for the practicum
- how to use GIS to determine the geographic coordinates of survey projects
(for individual projects)
- 2:00pm-5:00pm: GPS-equipped field trip to Graceland
- 5:00pm-6:00pm: Download GPS data
- 6:00pm-9:00pm: Dinner
